- Click on the “Add Template” button, an email editor will appear
- Type in the name of your email template, you will refer to this name when sending an email broadcast later
- Choose a category for this email template, so that it will be easier for you to sort and organize your template in the future
-
- You can craft your email using any of these options:
- Content – add any of the widgets from the Content tab to populate your email. Drag and drop any of the widgets onto the editor to add content onto your email. Mouse over the added content to either change the content’s properties or to remove the content. You can add dynamic content into your email text, similar how you can use macros on your template message. For example: “Dear {{contact.name}}” will automatically personalize each email content with the recipient’s name.
- Blocks – use Block to set your email layout
- Body – use Body to configure your email’s style such as width, background color, etc
- When you’re ready, click on the Preview icon (eye icon) to preview the finished email. You can preview the email across multiple different device types.
- Click on the “Publish” button when you’re satisfy and ready to use the email template.
Best practices when crafting HTML emails #
- Do not replace text content with images. Text in your email helps your audience to search, preview and eventually open and read your email
- Reduce your image size. Large email size prevents your audience from opening and completely reading your email
- Whenever possible, use linked images/videos as oppose to enclosed images/videos.
- If you are embedding HTML and Javascript code into your email, ensure that your code does not trigger antivirus protection, otherwise your email might be blocked
